For most people we have our "viewpoint" or moral platform as a starting point. From this height, we look upon others. In Western societies right now many check if it seems to be socially acceptable (majority vote) or not. This is devastating for any spiritual development. It is creating a prison for yourself.
But what if we chose to see beyond the surface level, to understand that every individual has their own struggles and imperfections? What if we practiced empathy and compassion towards those who may not align with our values or beliefs? Maybe we will learn something new?
As Mahatma Gandhi so wisely said: 'When I admire the goodness of a person, it is because they have some quality which I believe is worth admiring. If there be in them anything that seems to me evil, then my admiration for their good qualities will only make me more anxious to help them out of their bad ones.'"
